Ø Describe your ideal Instructor/Professor. - Helpful, informative, and someone you can feel comfortable asking question to.
Ø “I knew it when I studied it, but I forgot it on the test.” How can students study differently to prevent this from happening? - Maybe try studying earlier on, and not as much. If you study over a long period of time in shorter intervals i feel alot more gets memorized.
Ø How do you study for quizzes/tests? - I go over notes, along with the chapter. I have someone ask me questions out of the chapter... sometimes using flash cards, not often though.
Ø What do you have trouble with on quizzes/tests? - When there seems like there could be more than one right answer i.e. multiple choice.

I was shocked: For coffee drinkers, it would seem fairly safe to just grab a quick cup of coffee at McDonalds on the way to work. But many health conscious people would object to it also including this list of ingredients: sodium phosphate, sodium polyphosphate, Di-Acetyl Tartrate Ester of Monoglyceride, sodium stearoyl lactylate, tetra sodium pyrophosphate, sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium citrate, and carrageenan.http://rinf.com/alt-news/culture/surprise-ingredients-in-fast-food/1654/Some of these food additives are not foods at all, but are chemicals that are generally recognized as safe. Most of these additives cannot be found at your local grocery store, probably because they aren’t food. But some can be found at your local hardware store, though in inedible products like low tox antifreeze, silicone caulk, soap, sunscreen, and play sand.(This website is used only for citation purposes - you don't have to go there, unless you want to. Caution: It's scary!)
Finally - Do you feel as if there is any healthy fast food available to consumers? If so, where and why? Give specific examples of products.. Please be honest and support your opinions. For example, I feel that Subway's Veggie Sub is healthy due to its freshly-cut produce, cheese, and "fresh-baked" breads. I actually talked to a friend who works at Subway and he said in MQT, they slice their own produce. (My fear was that it arrived pre-sliced and filled with preservatives). It's not organic, but it's a start.
Yes. I believe it is all healthy, it is the consumers who are not healthy. The food they serve you has to make some sort of standards otherwise it would be illigal. If you are going to eat fast food you have to understand your consequences... if you eat 2 big macs, a large fry, and a 5 pack of nuggets and sit around the rest of the day, of course the food is going to be unhealthy for you. I will say its not your ideal food to eat because of its low nutritional value but you can still eat it and stay healthy; its called excersizing. Fast food consumes consumers because people are becoming more lazy and fast food is becoming more convenient.

Well, you're right about eating food and then just lying around and not exercising, definitely the consumer's fault. BUT, FFN will expose all the toxic chemicals used in preparation (& preservation) of most fast food. Also, we'll be reading about how yes, you would think the food would be safe since the gov't approves it for consumption but guess what.. another fallacy. They only care about the bottom line - profits. But yes I agree that the consumer must take a lot of the blame!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are having someone else ask you questions out of your notes & chapters to study. That is a great technique. Flashcards are always good but they sure are time-consuming to make. Might be worth a try though. ;)
10/10 Great job!
